Celeste, what you say here about writer's groups seems to be pretty much the way it is. At first it seems that it must be necessary to conform to their suggestions. After all, isn't that what writer's group is for? But, one soon learns its not and that conforming to other's criticisms often sends the muse packing. Your poem did make me squirm, from the beginning and cringe in horror at the consequence. It is not something I will soon forget.
