I believe these words speak for many. I was in that situation for many years and courage to move forward got me out and on to a better life road. sam

Wisdom is the art of using hindsight while events are still happening...
That point when you know that in years to come you will look back at this moment wishing you had done something different... that is wisdom. Courage is doing something different.
The easy path is often to click to the decomposing body of a relationship where love has died, and the hard is to admit that the dream is not here any more and that the pain must stop.
Fabulous words, poignant, wise and strong. If the poet matches the poem then life will hold a great deal of magic.

Going down with a sinking ship is noble -- but is also the ultimate self-destruction. Thank you for your comments and insight... and your good wishes.

Your comment reminded me of a song from the '60s (an oldie-but-goodie, as some people say)-- "Only the Strong Survive." Thank you for your comment.

Beautiful poem, sincere and heartfelt. There is a point at which one has to consider self survival. When that point is reached one must stop and break away, if one doesn't, one is doomed. Now the problem is recognizing that point, not too soon and not too late. You sound like your thoughts are clear on the subject, Good for you! No one should have to suffer in love. I wish you all good things in your next try :-) Take care of you.

Very wise words, full of truth and there almost seemed to be a hint at hope at the end. Powerful, and very well done.

The strong voice speaks out for the unlucky ones. (So many are in abusive relationships and don't know how to -- or simply can't -- get out.) Thank you for commenting.

Well this is a very strong voice pouring through this poem and I read resolve. It is sad what you speak of some relationships. Good point!
