Hubby likes to bring this up often...I never did either so it doesn't
matter much to me...but from what I see, people stoned on weed are mellow, while drunks are nuts...go figure

Well, if you can live without any of that, good for you. But, the most of us can't. I've read to my hubby this question of yours and his answer is that alcohol makes you dumb, so easier to obey

There are certain people who want to keep drugs illegal...
they're called drug lords, pharmaceutical manufacturers, doctors who prescribe mood enhancing
medicines and the politicians who get paid to keep them illegal. Oh, and don't forget the lobbyists!
