Block Pop-up
If you have Internet Explorer you can go: Tools->Pop-up Blocker and set your preferences. That will get rid of pop-ups but I don't even trust any Microsoft software anyway. Their updates usually have a negative impact on something else which they then patch while stuffing up something else ad infinitum...
Otherwise you can get some other blocking software, but that may contain some more spyware that they hide in their updates. I do not know if any software out there can be trusted. The opensource stuff is usually more trustworthy since it gets written to help and not to make money. Perhaps you should use Mozzilla Firefox (free browser). Hope this is helpfull.
