It is very odd isn't it that
people want a nanny state about some things. The sooner people are able to make their own judgement calls the better.

Thanks, one and all!
I think we should replace all current legislators with Bloggers, with the exeption of Smith, of course!

I agree totally my friend, sometimes lawmakers are just plain stupid and it comes naturally to them.

There's some weird thinking that goes into the lawmaking process.
Fairness and common sense disappear when they're deciding what to allow and when to allow it. Can't smoke in a building, but you can puff away in a car where the kids can share the "benefits." You can defend your country, but don't have the right to a cold beer when you're 19 or 20. It's a chain, chain, chain of fools, but I'll stop here.

I agree, but wouldn't it be great if it was only "A" drink that they wanted. Too much alcohol can cause an awful lot of problems.

Bottoms Up!
I'm with Smith (and everyone else who's left a comment so far...). A cold beer is the least we can do for them, after all they've sacrificed!

At any age, if you are going to assume the responsibilities of adults to the point you are willing to forego your own life, you should be entitled to all rights and priviliges. Otherwise these 'kids' shouldn't qualify to enlist until they are 21 and adults of legal age. sam

I agree too. If you're old enough to kill other human beings, hell, you're old enough for a drink or two!

Up until recently, that's the way it used to be.
A kid would argue "If I'm old enough to fight, I'm old enough to drink," and the answer was,"you're right, and if you joint the military, you can drink on base."
Smith is correct -- if you can pack a gun, you ought to be able to buy a six pack.
