Re: a trip in time
Thanks Chiq!! We know there is a better life! Only if we can find the surroundings to relive it! It was the correct way of living!! We saw the hem lines go up and the neck lines come down. They call this civilization!!

a trip in time
Very true and may be the people that lived when the soul was important were the lucky ones or may be the unlucky because we can see the difference. Young people do not know better therefore they do not miss anything.

Re: Over-crowding Plus Backlash from the Sixties
Thanks PearTree! The powers that be have stimulated this turn of events. People don't matter to them. We're just pawns. If they are not stopped by God, it will get much worse. I have some predictions in my blog! Check them out! It gets very critical indeed!

Hi Shams-I, God is creator of the world but he gave us free will didn't he? So evil people rise up and play God! In the Olden days, God used to incarnate to take care of demons. Lord Parsuram came with his axe and got rid of them. Lord Rama took care of Rawan. Krishna came and took care of asuras(demons), but he led the Pandavas in victorious war! So it is not necessarily true that God wants this. Kalki is supposed to come and take care of today's demons!

Thanks Chyrlann! I hope it comes out for the good. I feel that big evil used the oil crisis to strenghten their hold and swing everything as they wanted. The protocols of Zion seems to sum up their approach! Question is which problem do we try to solve!!!!

Thanks Jesse! People call where we are the end product of the 'growth of civilization'. I am convinced that we are being steered to the plan of big rich evil. It is not accidental or natural. Look at the beautiful way we were evolving! It really is a shame!

Thanks Callista! It really is a shame that so many good guys didn't make it this far. I know many of them, some of my teachers and friends, who died. We are persecuted because we are different. All their images of us are scripted in their own likeness! So they fail!!!

Over-crowding Plus Backlash from the Sixties
Each generation tends to rebel against that preceding. Add to that the anxiety of seeing your favorite places turning into housing developments and shopping malls, and the difficulty of feeling important and useful when you've been reduced to a face in an ever-growing crowd. I doubt that we've seen the worst, yet.

I also remember very well the era you speak of Dave
which is why I moved home to Cyprus where in most areas it is much like it was then.... I only use my front door key in the winter when the window is closed; I never lock my back door or my brand new car. I have often forgotten to close the door altogether and found everything in order when I got home! I am so glad I made the decision to leave the "modern world" behind. Thank you for an excellent post my friend; take care & God bless

A greater populous of cultural diversity, I believe my friend.......
many get caught up in the whirlwind of 'Jonesing' to have as much or prove as successful as if material things prove a persons worth. It is a sad plight, proves nothing only ill-content. I read the comments here and have witnessed an age gap between the haves and the have-nots. I believe as that gap widens we will begin to see a more humbled people upon their knees. There will be a minority at power and majority under rule; as predicted. My children in their early twenties are present witness to this gap. There are those few at this age moving ahead with higher education, technologically advancing and the majority unable to participate will be the laborers. I see the separation among cultural backgrounds mainly; those of the US in less abundance being the labor force and those of other cultures pushing higher education becoming the leaders once the minority now of majority in the context of material and financial power but, as predicted...the meek shall inherit the earth in the troubling times to come of epidemic and poverty, it will be those equipped to survive the duress (trained as warriors), money and material having little to no value. To become self-sufficient again, anti-consumers, living simply and bartering (benevolence as Shelly so eloquently stated) and reciprocity (the rules of nature) will come into force as natural laws begin enforcing. It is the simple of mind and heart (as in the days of old) that shall not only survive but thrive victoriously. The world presents higher education and technology having the answers to a brighter tomorrow, those of us not of this world know contrarily. ~Blessings my friend~

I believe you are right.
I was young during the 70's, but I remember times being friendlier then. I believe the development of an instant gratification mindset that especially permeated the 80's has a lot to do with how people treat each other now.

Soul Builder, I sympathize and relate. I ponder...Is part of the problem
geography? Have we become urban/suburban communities so noone knows his neighbor or cares to know his neighbor? Are the smaller communities more human in today's experience? And does our age influence the way we relate to others? I find younger people are much more supportive of each other and give up material wealth and career perks so their friends can move up, as needed. There are also fewer people who are urgently clamouring to the top and using the flesh of others. Much more giving and much less taking. I agree with you that there is a vast difference between the '50s to the 80's and today's standard. The question is what causes this selfishness, lack of care of others, feeling of false supremacy and what do more reasonable persons do about it....Pondering and praying...

For taking me back in time and remembering that era also. I was there also. It was so nice. I remember just playing softball and having fun and my kids playing softball and having fun and well, it just seems like so very much has changed, it's sad, really sad.

The point that struck was an incident that happened two night ago. I know of a family that is starting over and I was going through my house to find things for their home. I was giving. To make your point that people think they have to get something out of what they do; this neighbor had a kitchen table that was given to her and her first thought was to make money, by selling a free table, on a family in need. I told her that she needed to practice benevolence, it tasted far better than money! sam

Sticks and stones
The last paragraph reminds me of a rastafarian that used to sing at a shopping mall in Pretoria, South Africa. Some cold hearted assholes were trying to play him down and his answer to them was this: Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can never hurt me...

Soul, what a shame that so many talented and giving people will never get
their chance, due to being poor or just not knowing the right people or because of jealousy.
When i think how wonderful the world could be if we were allowed to work at our god given talents and to express ourselves as children of god, it makes me feel sad.
