You're right Nautikos, he did used them. Actually, the "Author" tells us during the visit that he is not to happy with what Wagner did to HIS story! HA!HA!HA!

I could never pronounce all those places...................

but I'd love to visit them.   I was in Germany for three years and did get around some, but don't recall that I was at any of those places.  My son was even born over there (Wiesbaden).  I loved it over there.

Very interesting. Of course, the Nibelungen story is also the basis for Wagner's Ring Cycle, The Rhinegold , The Valkyrie, Siegfried, and Twilight of the Gods...
