A-and-B - have you ever tried the "Import" function in your Wordpress blog?
(That is Wordpress blogging software fully installed on your own webspace) I've tried it once top import blogs and comments from Blogger.com and it worked quite nicely. That is the only experience I have with it but I am under the assumption that it tends to work well.

I discovered that those free blogs could not be transferred in any way. So, the person who wanted to sell a high PR blog was disappointed.
