Re: Sira
Naut,
That's been our dynamic for as long as I can remember. Mom tends to panic first, think later, whereas I'm less emotional, and tend to focus on logic rather than panic (or, I did until recently...).
Sounds like you're not at all scared to embrace the sparks! I'm all for crushes, but I don't know if I could handle more than one at a time!

Re: People draw the line in different places
Very true--everyone has their limits, based on their own personal truths.
I love your posts about your crush--they're so honest and heartfelt (much like the rest of your writing!).

Sometimes a crush on someone else has benefits
because of heightened energy and a touch of guilt. You have a huge reaction to someone else, your imagination takes off. And then you feel the need to make it up to the one you didn't do wrong because the whole thing took place inside your own head and not a hint was dropped in an inappropriate place. So you and your true love revisit the honeymoon; it's all good.

Sira
Of course I have crushes - sometimes several a day! But I think this is funny - a daughter having to lecture her mother about the facts of life...

I'm free to have crushes. Just crushes might be harmless.

The advice you gave your mom was great!
And sweet! And ya..we don't stop feeling...it's the acting upon that is dangerous...but feeling? Of course! I think it's human. We laugh about it!
