Professor_Jimbles - I see what you are suggesting; this attack could become

a rallying point for Scientology.

But I am of a different mind here. The possibility of intangible benefits incurred by the targeted party and the notion that these types of things have occurred throughout history are not justifications in of themselves. The simple fact remains that the Scientology folks have the same rights as anyone but more than that, if the attacks escalate beyond the current level of internet pranks, they have the right to confront their accusers. Where I cannot pretend that I do not have a bias in favor of the Anonymous group, it is the very fact that they call themselves, and are effectively "Anonymous", that I object to. Society simply cannot condone groups hurling rocks anonymously from the shadows at another group, regardless of who those groups may be.

Scientology < Anon.
Raids are a matter of life. I do not condone Anon's actions, but they are not a group, they are an incoherient swelling mob. Mobs are dangerous because you cannot disable one of them, you have to disable all.

My eventual point, is even though they are attacking people, they may be teaching Scientolology the value of sticking to their beliefs forever, even though they are under attack. All major religions have had a huge attack on their beliefs, grounds, people... This could be an acceptance message.

Kabu - I have to ask what you mean by:

" . . . freedom of speech and freedom of religion should be at least sort of allowed."

Who determines the "sort of"?
