The Vick's sounds like something he really should consider, especially if he went to far as to try the duct tape. Sounds like he might try anything!

Son tried the duct tape route. He found that an elbow is not a good place for duct tape. It bothered him more than the wart.

leaderspeaker - Thanks! Incredible is quite an adjective!!
TAPS - You know, with your son, I'd just send him a copy of this blog and if he's had enough of the dumb wart, he'll carry a jar of Vick's to put on the damned thing 8 times a day. My son-in-law to be got rid of a persistent wart by keeping it covered with duct tape. It took about 6 weeks, it fell off and had never come back. It's been at least two years.
Seedlings - Just breathe in the vapors really deep and hold them in your lungs (like you would mj); the Eucaplyptus oil in the Vick's will fill you with well-ness.
Whacky - We're with you -- we always keep a jar of this stuff around. Don't know if Bo would like it, though.
jacenta - Thanks, sweetie, for stopping by!!
NewYorker_inSicily - Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you again! I started putting some Vicks on a couple of calluses and they softened up after one day! I'm excited by that!!
Sam444 - I think you are on to something; I think it's the Euycalyptus oil.
Troosha - You are so right! My PD prevents me from taking any OTC drugs but Vicks is OK. Someone told me they rub it into the soles of
their feet whenever a cold starts in and it cuts it down to about 3 days.
AlienFemale - Wow - Thanks!! I love your comment!!
Soul_Builder - Thanks! I truly appreciate that!
MandaLee - Glad to see you again!
Bashkar.inq - GOOD to see you here, old friend! Thanks for relaying that story back to me about the RTC!
*Raven* - Good luck with that mystery rash. Let us know if it works, Okay?

wow, you learn new things everyday. will surely put this one to use. never really thought of Vicks as anything more than something that i used for blocked nostrils. alas, this is interesting, will be trying it with a chronic rash that i have that seems to not go away no matter what

Hi LadeCee
Was doing a bit of reading your blog. It's been so long. Loved that Root Canal Treatment. A most scary RCT, and that's what I am getting done these days. Told my doc, and he burst out laughing.

All I know is it helps me breath. I seem to have developed allergies in my 50's and can't take antihistamines or decongestants (they make my heart race) so I rely on tried and true Vicks. Sometimes those old products on the shelf are just as effective as the new fangled ones.

Excellent find. I have always used vicks. I put some on my chest at the first sign of a cold and I rarely suffer like so many I see during the cold and flu season. sam

Thanks for the info!
I will try it for the fungus! I'd like to add, I've used it to soften dry heels and it works wonders!

I always keep it around, a hold over from my childhood. My mother loved to use it on herself and on us. When we were croupy, she would rub it on our chests and backs. Now, I mostly just use it around my nose if it gets sore from too much blowing and Its my favorite remedy for chapped or dry lips. I've never used it on a wart. I don't have one. Son has a wart on his elbow. Maybe I can get him to try it. Probably not. He's tried everything, even surgery on it, and it keeps coming back. So he is skeptical. His preferential treatment is to ask me to tie a thread tightly around it. That causes it to dry up and drop off after a while. But it always gradually comes back. Maybe I can get him to try the Vicks.
