Re: Re: Naut
So Alberta is crook-free, Sira? Well, we can send you some of ours! Liven things up, give your cops some work to do, instead of sitting in the doughnut shop all day...

Re: Why do they call 'em flight risks when they can't fly?
Works for me, Pat! And along the way, I'd make them pick up the garbage along the side of the road...

Re:
Sam, I agree! That even happens, but for that they have to commit a federal crime! One of the problems with our (and your) judicial system...

I know, auslander! But 'private' crooks can be locked up, as long as you catch them, of course. However, have you ever seen a government in jail?

They're getting VIP treatment in our jails, why not when traveling?

Re: Why are we paying to fly them??
I love the story of your Dad's parking ticket! However, I thought I'd save the postage abd pay it right away...  And I agree with you on using Greyhound! Problem is, I'm sure the guards who need to accompany these crooks don't want to ride the bus...

Re: shaking my head at Gov. inability to keep up with things.
Kabu, if we shake our heads at the government's inability to keep up with things, we get dizzy...

For you to be speechless takes some doing, LOL! And I hope you managed to dilute that orange juice with a 'little water'...

Re: Naut
Hey now - Alberta has some standards! Besides, the newfies took most of the jobs, so there weren't that many left for the crooks

I think Pat's suggestion of having them walk back is a good suggestion.  But we should be checking Alberta - that's where they're all working making $25/hr.

Wow...You got a ticket that cost $75.00? I would crap if that happened to me...why didn't you just ask me for my ff miles?

Why do they call 'em flight risks when they can't fly?
What if they grabbed up all the guys with fugitive warrants and made 'em walk back?  Maybe a kind of chain gang, in bright orange "stupid fugitive" jump suits, with a sleeping bag and some trail mix. Send along an armed guard (in a vehicle) to keep 'em moving. If you thought you'd have to walk all the way home, even 2500 miles, would you go to BC?

Maybe they should be tried and/or when they are found. Then no one could run successfully. Oh, and they can serve the penalty warranted by the trying jurisdiction. sam

I agree that THEY (the crooks) should pay for their transport and
bus ride sound just good enough. But as for gvnmt deficiencies, can't we not recall some Private Businesses' scandals? I don't know, like financial companies running away (sorry, "misplacing" I think is the term) with the savings of some thousands of people ...Does that ring a bell?

Nautikos,
They probably upgrade to first/business class and get free drinks, bigger seats and more leg room, first on & off.  The crooks know how to go.

Why are we paying to fly them??

I know many law abiding citizens that can't afford to fly home to see their families over the holidays, and we're expected to pay for criminals to fly back to the scenes of their crimes? Hasn't the government ever heard of Greyhound? Put the crooks on a bus, and ship them back - since when do law breakers deserve more creature comforts than the honest citizens?

And sorry to hear about your ticket! My dad got a parking ticket once, and, based on principle, he decided he shouldn't have to pay it. He ripped it up, put all the pieces in an envelope, and mailed it into the ticket office. About a month later, he got a piece of mail back from them. Imagine his surprise when he opened the envelope to find the original ticket, each little shred of paper painstakingly taped back into place.

Dad was so impressed with the effort, he paid the ticket, and included a note congratulating them on doing such a thorough job!

Hi .. I could really go on talking about the incompetence of Gov. ~ A person who has budgeted and ran a household or business would use their common sense and run things smoothly, I think ..
