Soulbuilder..in reality there is no positive / negative..
there is only rational / irrational..this piece is rational..not necessarily every piece of yours..hey, but you're only human, right ?..you sure are very intelligent though, and it's my pleasure & honor that you've taken some interest in my work, thank you ! - Ash

I Read your blog! I have been to casinos! I've seen winners! I didn't win! That's luck! But you must not feel failure because you are not in somebody else's shoes. I studied hard to succeed and my success was deliberately destroyed by others. What can I do but keep struggling to survive!!! Thanks!!!

I believe in living my way and doing things my way! I reason things out rather than follow the mantras of others. Its my right! The way I would deal with things is reflected in my blog. You seem to have done it your way too!!! Thanks!!!

Re: I hate the expression "Get over it."
Thanks CEEMarie! Get over it ...leaves you in more trouble than if the person had shut up!! Some people do not know how to help!! So they take the easy way out! Or, they make you feel stupid! Don't complain is another popular one. Solve the problem your way! If the suggestions make you feel bad, tell the offender...thanks but no thanks!!

This is an excellent post, a piece of truth.

A verbal, "snap out of it and think positive" is not the answer for someone in dire need of homeostasis.

Yeah
I look at this in another way too. You can apply this to way of thinking to life in general. I saw this television segment. This young girl wanted a pair of pants made out of this upholstery fabric. She found a seamstress who said it couldn't be done. You can't make pants out of that type of fabric. The girl made her own darn pants. So the story goes she was walking across the street & another woman saw her pants & wanted them for her store. End of story that girl who made her own pants is now the head of a million dollar company. She didn't go to design school. Things just fell into place. One can look at that and say "why not me." I'm such a failure because things don't happen like that to me.

Be positive..... but don't supress your negative feelings too.. Allow them,
analyse them, then turn them to positive..... Don't hide the feelings.... we all are human.... like day and night we have our positive and negative moods, let them come to surface, learn them and fix it to make a stronger person......

Please write more about this..
Hi Dave.. I'm currently helping a friend, but so far, it seems like that none of my suggestions work well for her (different situations, different minds and different agendas..). I still refuse to give up. But to go on, I need to know more about this Positive-Negative issues. Hope to read more from you. Thanks.

You know, Soul_Builder,
I was just thinking of this post in terms of our presidential election campaigns and debates going on right now in the US. I don't think I have heard anyone suggest to the candidates that they need to have a positive attitude, or that they are being negative. When it comes right down to important situations, people want answers and to get answers, there has to be some extensive thoughts and discussions on the problems. I am afraid though that on more personal and individual levels, human beings do, too often, incline themselves to invalidate others.

Much food for thought. Thanks.
It seems that the relationship between the listener and the person expounding is of utmost importance. That relationship must be defined before any real communication can take place. I'll be thinking about your blog! Thanks again.

Nutuing is a large part of my personality and I tend to want to help everyone in need, over the years while going through my own suffering .. I concluded that sometimes a listening ear and extended hands are enough to begin healing. There are times when anothers silence is really golden. Wonderful Post!

I hate the expression "Get over it."
I don't often use the "h" word. But when someone says to another person, "Get over it," it means they're finished listening, it's your problem. It's a conversation ender. It's a relationship ender. It makes one feel like a complainer, a whiner or worse, not having a problem worth hearing about. How does one get over "it?"

quite interesting
i agree that in order to begin to solve any problems that you must get to the root of them and b aware of all underlying issues and of course in this lovely western society lol some people do think that simply saying "act positive" is a panacea for any ill that seems to b affecting us but truly like you said some people are suffering and need more than a simple mantra
