Where in this post do I do any lumping of people together at all? Where do I ridicule of portray anyone as being an enemy here?
I really am lost as to why you felt the need to say such things after reading this post.
I really am just talking about what I have seen and experienced here and not trying to make any comments about other people's beliefs. I had hoped to get some people to express they views better about what they actually get from their belief in God, but that seems to be the kind of thing no one can do.

So when you come here and leave an insulting, hate-filled comment that is more about attacking and my character (Or that of others) then actually debating the point, you are just offering an opposing view? You really are a confuted person there.
I have no problem at all with people disagreeing with me and offering true opposing views. You have never done any such thing.
There are several believers here who disagree with my views who unlike you are able to leave comments which say they disagree with me, but are not insulting like your and unlike you they actually understand what I am saying. Most of the time you seem to be as clueless as it gets as to what the actual topic is and go off confessing ideas. It is you are few like you who just 'do not get it'. There are believer here who understand what I am saying and can respectfully disagree with me.
Even Gomedome and myself have disagreed on some thing and we have been very polite to each other about our differences, never whining about how I am attacking them and never once providing anything to prove me wrong or to back up their views.falling into the sad little trap of trying to attack the other's character above focusing on the actual issue we are debating. And then of course I have seen too often just the opposite, where I go and very politely point out my differing view and often present actual proven facts to back me up, this is then followed by those like you
Just look at this comment itself. What you said has nothing to do at all with the post and everything to do with attacking my character.

Re: Sam
This reply is exactly what Sam444 is talking about. The only reason I ever read your posts was to offer an opposing opinion but you are not interested in that or any debate at all. Read your own words. The reason why the religious "hardcore" do not seem to be around Blogit now is because they do not choose to waste their time reading or replying to your posts because they realize what they will receive. ZenMom and your Dad are about the only two who do reply and that is because they agree with you. You claim, in your own words, about being all about people instead of government or flags or God or any authority at all but I do not see what you claim when you are condescending to believers who leaves replies to your posts. It is funny how everyone who disagrees with you is always "not understanding your post" or "did not get any of this at all". You are clearly not God nor do you know everything. You are just like us, human beings. Or am I not getting that either?

kooka_lives - let me add to your comment to Zen Mom
One thing I have noticed lately is that there are not as many BTLs (bible thumping loonies) and subsequently there are also less of those who are completely spun, aggressive and annoying. There have been some serious religious fruitloops on this site in the past, with the handful that were referenced earlier leading the pack. I actually find blogging enjoyable again now that the unnamed blogger has left.
To be a non believer on this site and post your honest religious opinions is not for the faint of heart. Absolutely everything that does not praise the believer's God, despite how honest and irrefutable it may be, will be labeled as an attack. Invariably the response to this perception is a counter attack or the two BTL standbyes in questioning why you right your blog or pointing out your typos. Still, there are a few people capable of intelligent and interesting discussion, which makes it all worthwhile. (at least on some days)

actually . . . God does something for people
Marx said, "religion is the opiate of the people."
I see that a lot. People's lives are messed up. They imbibe religion like a tonic that cures all, like an inebriate where they are no longer aware of their messed up lives.
This is what a lot of people mean when they say "God saved me." or other such.
But if it is useful to them, then . . .

It's perfectly fine you feel no importance in God's existence or not. Is it all right for some to feel God is important to them without needing any proof? Can they be allowed their beliefs without becoming subject to ridicule, or portrayed as the enemy? The outnumbering nuts are upon us again! Please, that was generous. Just try to be nice and not lump people together in hurtful catagories.

If you think what is here now is bad, you missed out on the great lair Nopeace, who basically plagiarized just about everyone of his posts and made some of the most outrageous lies I have seen here on Blogit, all the while trying to judge everyone else and attack anyone who did not follow his beliefs. His anti-homosexual agenda was filled with nothing but the most idiotic of ideas and assumptions. All of the posts he wrote on his won were really nonsense, including his great one 'Darwin's Theory of the Big Bang'. Once he started plagiarizing, his posts got better but he could not defend and of those ideas very well because they were not his.
We've seen the blogger who I shall no longer name because it seems that if he finds out he is being talked about he returns to haunt us and push his very poorly thought out religious agenda and his messiah complex on us.
We also say the leaving of the Pastor who knew everything and if you did not agree with her your views and advice were worthless because she was a pastor and you were not. She had the one single greatest most insulting lie I have ever seen here on Blogit and it was all about her trying to prove me wrong about Halloween.
So right now the what we have with the religious funnies here is not at its worse. We've come through some fairly bad stuff the last few years.

Sam
You really just did not get any of this at all.
Some people just are too focused on all the wrong things.
God does not have my attention, people do. I look at people and try to figure them out so I can better understand the universe. Understanding all religious ideas and concepts of God are part of understanding people better.
I have no desire at all to alienate anyone and I puzzled as to where you get that idea from.
You just did not understand the post itself, that is very clear.

I enjoy reading your posts and could not agree with you more. It seems that the non-believers here on blogit are outnumbered. I was a member here a few years ago, left and came back, only to find blogit overrun with
hardcore believers. Zen

I believe in God because he had been my rock and my high tower. If you really don't care about God why do you spend so much time writing about Him. The second thing I like about God is He has your attention BIG TIME! You actually have a blog that gives me the impetus to love Him even more. You are doing great, the more you alienate people, the more people will turn to Him. Thanks! sam
