I don't see it as vexing myself. Memories come back around from time to time. I try to see what lessons I can/have learned from them.

You are vexing yourself over something that no longer exists; not even the way you think you remember it so vividly. Your heart of heart knows the truth; facing it is another proposition altogether, don't you thiink? Lots of stuff in those few words of yours.
