jollyjeff - before you repost, double check to be certain it wasn't saved

as a draft.

The draft saving capability of Wordpress fooled me a few times when I first started using it.

Thanks gomedome
That's great information. Only problem is I posted something else yesterday and can't find it. May have to repost it, I guess.

jollyjeff - Wordpress.com would be my first choice knowing what I know now

Finding your Wordpress blog via Google search was rather easy: HERE  . . . I also see that the permalink structure being used is the same as the way I have set mine up, with date and post title following the domain name.

The reason I would choose Wordpress is that it has a series of graduation levels from free hosted blogging on a subdomain (jollyjeff99.wordpress.com). A top level domain name can be used with their set up, which in turn allows you to establish that domain name with minimal expense before going to a full blown self hosted Wordpress platform on your own webspace. I think it's the best place to start.

Thanks Gomedome
I did recently sign up with worldpress  and  I've posted one essay. (The Rocking Chair Test, which is also one of the first essays I posted on blogit.) I'll see what I can do to get more active on that site.

sam444 - would you believe me if I told you that when I arrived on Blogit,

just 4 years ago, I was "internet illiterate"

The beauty of the internet is that there is as much knowledge to be found as the human brain is capable of absorbing. I started by selling a few items on eBay, then blogging and then onto other things.

I like reading these posts for the knowledge but I am back burner when it comes to literacy in this computer world of ours. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!  sam

jollyjeff - Blogger.com is probably the best place to try your hand at

blogging in the public blogasphere.

Yahoo360 is good as well. Then there is http://wordpress.com/ (not Wordpress.org). I always recommend that people get their feet wet on some of the free blogging sites where you have a chance at least to build some readership. Then as the ideas percolate, you find your niche and get the hang of it, then it may be time for the small investment in a domain name and your own webspace. I wouldn't recommend jumping in with both feet right at the outset.
