The poem captures a moment and sentiment very well. I know what you mean that sometimes we just feel we've run out of creativity or ideas. Some days I'm more inspired than others so on those day I usually write a couple of peices, knowing full well that at some point during the week my imagination or inspiration will fall flat. Or... sometimes we just need to take a step back for a day or two.

Hello and Thank you
for your comments, they are meaningful to me. To me this poem is poignantly beautiful and says so much. A wonderful piece to analyze, so much is conveyed with so few words. The spiritually packed symbolism of rose and bowl. I would like to know the story that inspired the dogs role, the exchanging of rose and bowl. On one level dog is delivering the gift of spiritual insight/wholeness and the beggar is gifting the dog with the promise of basic survival needs fulfilled. I think it's a deeply insightful and wise poem.
