I will never suffer osteoporosis because I am a Glycosaminoglycanite.
Most Glycosaminoglycanites stand out in a crowd because of their well-rounded booty, others because of their missing teeth. I practice good dental hygiene thereby avoiding the later.

Re: So, if we want to be strong as a horse, we need to crunch a sugar cube?
Pat, one of the oldest, most time-honoured tricks of making friends with horses is offering them sugar cubes, which they daintily pick from your flat palm! They obviously know why they like their sugar! Actually, I prefer to offer them little red apples, which they also like...

So, if we want to be strong as a horse, we need to crunch a sugar cube?
What a lovely idea!  Even if it's wrong, it's right. :)

Re: There is so much contradiction out there, it's hard to know whose facts
Well, Ariala, it depends on what you want to be, a strong-boned, fat diabetic, or a thin, boneless rag doll - your choice...

Whacky, sugar on OsCal is the new health food! Enjoy! And give =^..^= a belly rub from me!

There is so much contradiction out there, it's hard to know whose facts
and research are best.  Sugar is known to destroy the immune system, make you fat and cause all kinds of other problems and now they're saying it's good for the bones?  hahahaha...you'll get no argument from me...I could eat sugar for every meal!

Kabu, damn, I wish you had told me earlier - would it help if I posted a retraction?

I got good strong bone genes from my family on both sides.  I don't much need to worry about that.  Now ask me about the diabetes genes and sugar.

Nice post, interesting since we are told sugar is good for nothing. A few times in your descriptive writing I was not sure you weren't cursing me, but it's okay you'll get over it.
