RSM, do you even know what you are talking about any more?
First off, since you seem really confused about this, I do not think you are a 'hater' just because we disagree.  I have read your extremely hate filled posts in your blogs that show you to be nothing more than a hater. If all you did was disagree with me, then we might be able to get along.  But you hate, and hate big time.  You blindly hate and blindly attack that which you hate and very rarely do you ever know what you are talking about , since you mostly talk through blind hate.  That has been very clear to me about you for some time.

I guess you are getting the religious aspect of the church confused with the educational aspect of the church.  I am ORDAINED as a minister with the ULC.  That is NOT the same thing as having a degree with them.

AS for the ULC being a fake, a fake what?  They are a real church, as real as any church out there.  They can legally ordain whoever they like and those ordained though them are legally REAL ministers.  It does not matter how they got ordained.  This is because of the freedom of religion this country gets to enjoy.  The government CANNOT tell a church how they have to go about ordaining their people. I am a real and legal ordained minister as far as the law is concerned.

Now the whole degree thing is different and in order for most people and organizations to recognize and take seriously your degree, you need it to come from an accredited organization.  Well, I have never claimed to have a degree from the ULC.  My degree is from an actually accredited college and has nothing at all to do with my ordainment.

Somehow you are getting the two things confused it seems.

You wish to call me a fake, tell me what it is I am a fake of.  Since I am a real minister and am legally recognized as such, I am clearly NOT a fake there.  Just because you dislike how I became ordained is meaningless in this case.

Re: RSM

The one thing that is evident in this weak offended society we live in today is that if you disagree with someone then you are automatically a hater. Your disagreement with religious "nut jobs", as you put it can be seen as hate if you want to play that little offended game but I am not politically correct nor will I ever be part of that nonsense.

I visited the website you had listed on your blog and I found that ULC is not accredited, however it is legal in California but the governor vetoed that and now you are calling me a hater and in an uproar.

Should everyone simply take what is on this website as the truth and follow blindly? I simply stated what was on the ULC website and it is fake. I can not go to a job interview and state that I have a medical degree from a school which is not accredited. That is law. If you are an ordained minister with degrees from an accredited university is one thing but with the ULC it clearly means something else. You can buy a degree or become and ordained minister for free online all the time. Does that really mean that you actually a doctor or minister, no! I simply disagree with you and your posts. In this nation you can still disagree but it is apparent that you lable that as hate. I thought we could still disagree under the freedoms of our nation. You remember the word freedom, right?

RSM
I don't know all of what My wife's friend knows about my ordainment, but I have no problem with telling her all about it.  My wife and I were married by a friend of ours who was ordained through the ULC, as were he and his wife and many of our other friends. It is perfectly legal.

I've not said I have any degree at all from them, just that I was ordained through them.  It is all 100% perfectly legal and here in Colorado I am legally recognized as an Ordained minister will all the rights.

You really are trying hard to discredit me and are showing just how much you seem to hate me any more.

You might just for once read my stuff and think about what I am saying before you go and jump into such off topic ideas.  As I said, I have no degrees at all from the ULC and so I truly am lost as to what point you think you are making here.

Does The Lucky Couple Know?

From the ULC website:

9. Are the courses accredited? The ULC Seminary is not accredited by any agency nor are we currently seeking national or regional accreditation. Most Department of Education recognized National Institutional and Specialized Accrediting Bodies are linked to mainstream Christian and Jewish faiths and their accreditation requirements would severely limit the breadth and variety of course offered by the Seminary on a plethora of religious paths.

We are open about our Non Accreditation and why we are not currently seeking national or regional accreditation because there are many "internet degree" programs are "accredited" by an agency not listed as recognized by the Department of Education.

By the way, do not declare that the degrees from the ULC are legal by California law. The California Act that declared ULC legal was vetoed by the governor.

Basically, if you can sign your name and write your address then you are now a minister. Only in California! What a joke! FAKE! You know that stating you have a degree that is not accredited can be a felony in some states.

kooka_lives - who could ever forget our favorite pastor
One of the rudest, hate filled, obtuse and ignorant people to ever grace this site. That there spreading the luv of Jesus business is a little tricky for some people.

Thank you. I went to the website. Now, I am an ordained minister also. I printed out my credential certificate. I feel very official. I would love to officiate at a wedding. Perhaps one of my children (some day) will let me. Peace.

Thank you so much for this entry

I had forgotten about the Universal Life Church. Being that I was a yippie, I remember when ULC really took off. It got a huge boost from people trying to run from the draft, and got a bigger surge by the whole hippy culture. Religion gave way to spirituality and ULC was the key to pulling the commitment ceremony out of the church. I've been married many times but only once in a church.

Anyway, thanks for the reminder. I'll have to get ordained now(I've been putting it off for more than 35 years).
