Nautikos - same here - when they legalized gay marriage in this country
I said: "Good, we won't have to listen to this issue being debated to the point of nauseam any more."
As in any public information and education effort, the lowest common denominator is quite often the reason the effort was initiated in the first place.

mikes_goddess - welcome back to Blogit
Socialized medicine has many issues involved with it. Some aspects of it clearly do not work properly, there is abuse and there are most definitely cost overuns. It does however achieve the ultimate goals of allowing all citizens to maintain their health and to never experience the life crippling effects of illness or accident causing financial ruin. The USA is in a position to learn from the mistakes and glaring deficiencies of the British and Canadian social medicine systems and institute a better system.

I agree completely! The whole homosexual [sic] thing/controversy/debate/political this-and-that just bores the bejeezus out of me, but advocating condom use among them is to all our benefit. Although I would imagine the intelligent ones, probably in the majority, have long since adopted that habit; the dummies are always hard to reach! (One thing I will never forgive them - that many years ago they irretrievably hijacked the wonderful English word 'gay'...)

I have missed your sense of humor....
I have been gone nearly two years and you are still interesting to read. In the USA we think we would love socialized medicine. God knows what we have is not working. Reading this I doubt what you have is one size fits all either. as to the revultion thing... different strokes. God it's great to be back.

ZenMom - it was so long ago that I cannot remember what TV station
it was (if I ever knew).
But it could have well been a US cable channel.

I liken it to a man seeing a tampon ad. It's definately not for him, but it doesn't mean that there aren't people who need them :)

I'm wondering what station you were watching...........My husband and I were watching tv late one night....we had the same experience.........a commercial that was rather "different"....Turns out we had a cable channel on that catered to gays........so, we just changed channels. Sometimes, it's just that easy.
