Also, as for my respect for other's religious beliefs, I very much show them all the time. It is just people like you are unable to understand just what respect for religious ideas not your own really is. After all, you have often showed yourself to hate the idea of religious freedom.

How as I being defensive? I just had no clue as to what you needed explained about me being a Ordained Minister.
As for where our beliefs lie, I have studied the Bible and the God presented there is far from being perfect. In fact I would greatly fear that idea of God due to all the imprecation he displays (His control issues, his anger issues, he obvious disrespect for life and freedom), and never wish to have any dealing with such a being. I would much rather put my faith in to these imperfect men, who make mistakes but can grow from those mistakes and become better people if they try. So far my faith in my friends and family has paid off time and time again in ways I have yet to ever see any faith in God pay off for anyone.
'Human beings can not perform miracles,'
Well, I guess that depends on how you view miracles. After all I have seen some people do really impressive things that have made real differences in people's lives.
'can not save the world,'
Says who? In fact it really is ONLY human beings who can really change the world when we get our act together and really try for it.
'can not control the universe'
No one can control the universe. It would take a fictional character to do that. And do you know how scary it would be to believe that there could be a being that could control the universe? Such a belief should paralyze a person with fear.
'and can not do anything to answer my prayers.'
So I guess you have no good friends then, because my friends have very often 'answered my prayers(For lack of a better word)' at times of great need. In fact time and time again it has been these 'imperfect' creatures who have done great good for me and those I care about, and I have done as much as possible to return such kindness and spread it to others.
"Can the Pastor or 20 million ULC 'ministers' heal my handicapped daughter?"
Not to sound like a jerk here, but has your God done anything to heal your Daughter? I do not know the full extent of her problems, but I would bet that if anyone is capable of helping her it is the 'flawed' men who are called 'doctors', and have learned all they can about how to heal. Seriously, have your prayers to help your daughter healed her? And if you believe they have, were there any 'flawed' men such as doctors involved in this?
I do look at the whole picture and very much think outside of the box. That is why I can understand the idea of God and very much not believe in it.
Really, all that you say here is a very bleak and pessimistic view of man. You are saying you would rather believe in some invisible being that may or may not be out there than but ay faith at all into one single person. What a sad life that must be.

Re: RSM
What else is there to explain?
You do not have to get defensive when asked a simple question.
Your respect for all religious ideas is something I do not see in your posts or replies so you may want to practice on that a little more.
I could not agree with you more about the individual (Pastor) who claimed to be an expert and that only her advice is supreme. I have a problem with certain members of churches, such as Free Will Baptist, who claim that only their prayers get through to God and the rest of us Christians are somewhat inferior. I am a lifelong Baptist. I respect and listen to our pastor and learn from the sermons, HOWEVER, I do not nor will I ever promote anyone with a title, such as the Pastor or your title or even the Pope, as being the supreme expert or savior. That is a farce! The Lord Jesus Christ is my savior and I have a personal relationship to Him and my prayers are directed to my savior. A person with a title, here on Earth, is nothing more than what I am, a human being. Human beings can not perform miracles, can not save the world, can not control the universe and can not do anything to answer my prayers. Placing your faith in man and not in the Supreme Being is a sad existence. Ask the Pastor who crowned her as our "go to" supreme being. Can the Pastor or 20 million ULC 'ministers' heal my handicapped daughter? Look at the whole picture, think outside the box and not be narrow-minded in trusting your faith in something that is completely flawed as man is. Happy conducting of wedding ceremonies to you; I hope you enjoy the experience.

I am an ordained minister with the Universal Life Church. What else is there to explain? Check out their web site here if you want to find out about them.
They are a very open group and anyone who has respect for all religious ideas can be ordained through them. I did it originally to prove a point to a certain blogger who kept using her title of 'Pastor' to claim that other's should listen to her advice over mine, as if her having that title somehow made her a more spiritual person no matter what she actually showed herself to truly be.

Interesting. Any questions that I may have would be a click over the phone on your part. Seriously, you see novel wedding ceremonies on television and in films. Thank you for sharing, Preach (ha).

Would love to see it too!
My daughter had a non-denominational minister scheduled for her wedding...wedding didn't happen though but it was neat to see what she came up with for vows. A lot of the Native American wedding vows are cool. Wish I'd gone that route.
