Maybe it's just me, and maybe it's anti-progress, but it ain't the cow farts that are making contrails in the sky thick enough to affect the earth's temperature. They did a study of the weather during the week-long shut down of all air traffic following the 9-11 attack, and found that temps at ground level were measurably higher & global warming was at least temporarily increased. The contrails (and maybe cow farts) are keeping the temps slightly lower -- although I suspect they do increase the amount of microscopic particulates.
