Comments on Why Do You Suppose They Call It Race 'Baiting'?

Hillary never said that Dr. King was not behind the civil rights movement.  Taken in proper context... She conveyed that Dr. King fought, marched, was persecuted and laid the foundation for the eventual signing of the civil rights laws that Johnson signed.  She is historically right.  Everyone knows that a building is only as strong as its foundation.  And all that statement means to many many people is that we can accomplish nothing unless we work TOGETHER, black and white, chinese, jewish, catholic, muslim, and on and on.  We need each other.  TOGETHER we can change the world.

It is also important to note that her comments were made separately from Bill Clinton's fairy tale remark that was used in context with Obama's position on the Iraq war.  I am from the west coast and had never ever heard fairy tale being associated with a racial statement.  In fact we often say to each other that we live in a fairy tale if what we think should be done is silly or unthinkable.  So I am a little baffled?????

If you know something about Obama's background, then let us know because he is a mystery to many.  He has been a senator for 2 and a half years.  Has he introduced any legislation to congress?  Does he serve on any committees in congress and if so, which ones?  We know King's record and we know JFK's record... two great men that I would think one would be shamed to even dare to compare themselves to for risk of looking arrogant and full of oneself.  These were two great men, actually I prefer by far Dr. King, but that is another story.

And by the way, I grew up in a multi-cultural, multi-racial (white, chinese, black, italian, german, jewish all part) family.  People can say what they want.... because we know who we are.... what matters are the issues..... We have all grown beyond the race card..... Let's hope everyone else can too and get to what counts

Kingmi: It was a race-baiting comment by Hillary.  I don't think the Great Society programs would've passed without King and the civil rights movement.  King, Abernathy, Malcolm X and the others convinced Johnson, Humphrey and other white liberals who were in power then to get civil rights passed legislatively.  I don't believe that they would've done it on their own without King.

You Obomites......
Have been set up......It's not about Hill or Bill....what they have done is to get you guys all riled up and responding.....it's using up the Obama campaign's attention and is making it look like you are desperately playing the "race card"....which works well with the older white voter segment.  You are helping her.....which is OK by me......
