Re: You need 3 things.
CRShelley, thanks for the reply. Well, there are no Wal*Marts where I live, but I do talk to her, and I gave her a toy today. She's quite skittish, but I can hear her playing with it sometimes when I am not with her, so I think that's a good sign!

Re: absolutely!
Hi LostInLife, thanks for the reassurance. I'm ready with some scratching posts, though so far she has barely used her claws on anything, in or out of her little safe area in the bathroom. I go in and visit her a lot, and she does snuggle and purr for me. She still cries a lot too, but she's eating and drinking, so I guess she's just meowing to make sure I know she's there, or to tell me she's still not feeling entirely settled...
After we're all settled in, she and I, I'll be sure to put up some pictures, she's a lovely kitty. =3 Thanks again!

You need 3 things.
A soft voice, a toy, and "mother's milk" from Wal-mart. Trust me.

absolutely!
Give it time and she will be running the place! All it takes is time; talk to her alot and let her know she is safe and she will eventually be your best friend. I'd put up any nice furniture when she gets older or put some kind of protective something over your posts and door frames, She will need a scratching post otherwise things will get torn to shreds. :)
