- Go to Ron Paul's popularity

FreeManWalking: I agree with you regarding Ron Paul. The New Republic piece on him is a smear article much like what occurred after Pat Buchanan won the New Hampshire presidential primary in 1996. Everyone ganged up on him then and I suspect they will do the same thing to Paul if he wins Nevada or South Carolina. They will go after him intensely if he finishes second in those states. I know this: they want his candidacy derailed.

Re: Re: Dylan - spoken like a true socialist. Ron Paul supporters are
working people. Ron Paul is revolutionary in that he recognizes the wrong turns we've made with the Great Society. Blacks were the biggest losers under the culutre of entitlement programs. To preserve loyalty Democrats kept poor blacks tethered to welfare checks. Democrats are against the black man. Republicans are only for corporate interests. Ron Paul is for everybody who believes in making their own by not harming others while promoting their own interests. OMG - that just sounded like Ayn Rand. He doesn't exclude anyone from his fold by race. He's a libertarian.

Re: David - what I've found is Ron Paul actually believe in running the U.S.
FreeManWalking, I think your comment is very generous to Mr. Paul. You present him as a brave voice for freedom. Yet how do you account for the racist remarks published under Mr. Paul's sponsorship? (Who cares if he edited them or not, why would he allow his name to be associated with something so disgraceful?) It appears that Mr. Paul represents those who yearn for the America that existed before civil rights became protected, when government was of, by and for wealthy white men. This is reactionary not revolutionary.

David - what I've found is Ron Paul actually believe in running the U.S.
as the Constitution intended. He scares Republicans who want to sell off our country in a corporate geography. He believes in preserving U.S. borders. He believes Americans can live in a culture of courage without all the entitlement programs that preserve the Democrat voting bloc and keep them loyal.
Ron Paul is an old school American, the kind that built this country. He's far and away the most intelligent candidate on the stage. That he expresses ideas based on his reading of the history and the Constitution rather than party platforms and lobbyists talking points scares many people and inspires others. He let's me know there is hope yet.
