Kooka, I believe realisation is a special grace and there is a time for
everyone to realize the truth.

The most dangerous people on this planet, kooka, are those who
simply refuse to see reason and adhere to every word of their holy books as divine truth.  They're not just dangerous in their presentation of world perception and their general facilitation of the end times (all these idiots believe in a coming paradise) but also in the atmosphere of ignorance passed from one generation to the next...

SEEDLINGS
I have known people like that.  People who need religion but then let it take too much control over them and their lives until the really become removed from reality and start to forget what is really important in life

Kooka
When my sisters husband was killed before her very eyes, she turned to religion for answers. Understandable...however she stayed on that religious horse the following year and year after year. It's been 17+ years since her husband was killed and her beliefs defy logic anymore. God bless her, It's almost intolerable to be around my sister who was once a very sharp, wise, witty woman. You can not turn around without her telling you that you did so because of something the Lord did. AND the biggie' in her eyes our entire family is going to hell IF they don't get on the correct train to heaven. Anyway, 'why' people believe in things that defy science, logic etc, because it's the only thing that keeps them afloat.

kooka,
As often, I agree. I feel that there are so many people out there bible-thumping (hypocritically, btw) and often taking things literally. Yeah, that quote from Mark in the bible? Well, that's just one of MANY other quotes and additions to "THE BIBLE" after the first ORIGINAL testimate. There are no re-do's here. Did Margaret Mitchell get a re-do after writing and overseeing the movie of Gone With The Wind? No! What's done is done. Besides, we KNOW SHE wrote that manuscript.

Kooka...
...I don't believe the Bible is exactly the words that God wanted us to hear. I believe those words have been altered or blatantly changed to reflect what specific groups wanted their people to believe. I feel that if God wanted us to know his words, He would have imprinted them in our brains at birth. Because once man is given the words, through time, those words most definitely will be different at the end from the beginning. Just to hear the different words from the different versions of the scriptures worldwide shows that to be a fact. That's why my feelings of God's words are in my heart where I hold goodness, love, respect, compassion, empathy, forgiveness, and all the good words of living a good life.
