Morality it seems is in...
...the eyes of the beholder nowadays. Not very many people are following the laws of Christianity or anything else if you ask me. People act very selfishly when they interacting with others (like driving for instance) because no one has time to wait any more. Everything is so fast moving, that if you don't get out of the way or take time to warn others of your intentions while driving, you may get cussed out or honked at or something to let you know you are wasting somebody's time. It's selfishness, that's all.

The highest moral precepts are extant throughout the world, all religions

Do unto others as you would have others do unto you.

this actually, according to the Talmud, is all you need to know.

it is the ultimate precept among all religions.

and it is the best starting place.

doesn't need religion.

Even the Ten Commandments (Hebrew word means"precept", not commandment, and THOU SHALT is not in the original language) are secular precepts.   Nations have enacted laws regarding these subjects ever since Civilization came to be.

A person doesn't need religion to understand how best to interact with others.  Only, at one time, the threat of a wrathful god helped people to understand, like a two by four between the eyes of a recalcitrant mule.
