Lovely piece about the closure of the holiday season. Isn't it a shame that we can't "celebrate" our loved ones more often throughout the year. My husband and I were talking about this just last night and we decided to have a big family dinner/gathering every 6 weeks (instead of waiting for Thanksgiving or Christmas). There is a method to our madness though. We decided if we did this then none of the children would mind if we headed off to Mexico next Christmas.....
