Re: Ladyoflight...
Update:  If Obama does not dislike Hillary then why did his purposefully snubb her, turn his back on her during Bush's final speech this week, while she was shaking hands with Ted Kennedy and he was standing right next to Ted, (glued).  He, like Ted was facing her, and when she shook his hand, he turned his back.... wow, what a gentleman, no what a statesman.... (this was documented on film by news stations and in photos in the newspaper)  To be President, you have to be a diplomat..... How will he get legislation passed in our congress if he cannot rise above his obvious dislike of someone?..... and she is democrat... last I heard we need bi-partisan cooperation to get most legislation past... Will he just snubb his republican rivals in the same manner?

He also stated that he does not wear the flag pin of our country that all representatives wear because he is protesting the war.... Let's see after he voted against the war.... he voted to FINANCE it..... then he won't honor our boys by wearing the flag.....  I am confused.... How can you vote to Finance a war and then refuse to honor your own country with the symbolic gesture of wearing its flag on your lapel like all of our other representatives.....???? I guess you can if you do not pledge allegiance to that same country......

Need to be more precise: He has the worst attendance record for a democratic US Senator.

Re: Ladyoflight...
Thank you for your opinion hon.... but I will maintain that a representative of the country should respects it and pledge allegiance to it, as the rest of the world watches closely.... This sign of disrespect, is a slight to our founding fathers and the many people who gave their lives to found our nation over 200 years ago.. We owe them our freedom, the least we can do is show them a little symbolic respect... by the way someone also told me that his act was in violation of the U.S. Flag code.......which I profess did not know existed

Hillary has admitted that she makes mistakes.... as do all politicians.... a grown up person can change their mind...when they realize that a decision made in the past has been a mistake...and it is a smart and intelligent person that recognizes a mistake and changes their mind rather than obstinately follow the wrong path.   I have been watching the debates closely... and have noticed that there is an interesting rhetoric that has developed.  Hillary is not perfect, never said she was.  She has made some mistakes, but only people that are perfect can say she is a bad person.. She simply is not a bad person.

Please when you blog for Obama, perhaps you might want to answer some questions for us that he never answers.....  Being an economist I would be interested in knowing exactly what his plan is to put the american economy back on track, how he will provide healthcare to people.... how he will improve the conditions of the under privileged  in our society.... how will he finance this...  How come he has the worst attendance record for any US Senator in the three years he has been a Senator.... absent 37 percent of the time..... or his 160+ present votes in the Illinois legislator...... You cannot vote present when President.
Let's change..... how and what and when and where?

He might also explain why he referred to Hillary Clinton as the Senator of Punjab... my American-Indian friends (from India) were deeply offended by this remark and have stated that their community would now never vote for Obama.... His campaign was caught circulating this memo, and had to retreat and apologize....

You might want to pick up the last issue of Vanity Fair (the december issue) and read about the man who financed the investigations into Clinton during his Presidency.......He is interviewed.... It is interesting to note that the people who tried to bring him down were guilty of the same.......

Ladyoflight...

...I understand what you mean by respecting your country and I totally agree. All I'm saying is that pin was a personal preference only. Is not required. So a personal preference should be left to the person. And how we feel about it is our issue, not his. Your right again, when we open ourselves up to criticism, we should not be critical of receiving that criticism, and I really don't think he was critical at all.

The articles I sent on Hillary were speeches she made herself, from her own mouth, not made up by media in any way. She cannot deny any of those words. Now whatever the media says about her is not an issue to me. I've listened to her straight for one year and before that when she wasn't even running. I loved her and wanted her to run. But it was her words only, not anybody else's, that changed my mind. Her personality has changed 360 degrees since she first started her campaign.

I'm not trying to change your mind, hon, I was only showing you why others have changed their minds. They have heard and see her transformation with their own eyes also. And everybody can't be lying. I believe what I see and hear with my eyes and ears only. I don't judge people by other people's opinions. And I wasn't trying to upset or dissuade you from Hillary. I was only trying to answer your question about why women don't like her.

Bless you and you keep your faith. I'm going to write a blog on Obama from my perspective only. There isn't any negative comments that have come out of his mouth that would be detrimental to his campaign. He's such a humble and purposeful individual. And he doesn't dislike Hillary. He just believes she cannot make changes in our political structure because she is a part of what is wrong with it. She takes money from lobbyist and that means she has to give them something in return. That is the only reason he thinks she cannot make change.

If I find anything that might be of interest to you, I give you the links. You make your own choices and please investigate anyone you wish to vote for so you'll know as much as you can about them. Good luck, hon.

Re: Obama...
For Obama, It is an issue when you want to represent a country.  If you represent a country than show it and its people the minimum respect.  Yes we have individual rights protected under the constitution of the United States, but last I checked the job description was for the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES.  I little respect is called for to the country and its people.

When a person takes a stand, they open themselves to critism.  When they make a decision, they open themselves to critism.  When they see that a decision that they have made in the past was a bad one, and have the courage to change their mind based on new information, they should be admired for their courage.  Rather admit their mistakes and move to correct them them watch them snowball.

You can find 10 million more articles on Hillary and on others for that matter.  I have read them too.  So much of the press today is hearsay, they will print anything and not verify sources.  Then they print a retraction on page 210 so no one can see it.  The damage is done.  I speak from personal experience.

Hillary has the courage to take a stand, the courage to change her mind (as we are all humanbeings, created with free will, and are not perfect).  Some of the candidates would like to roll back rights given to women and minorities.  This is where all this mud slinging comes into play...

I am not saying Hillary is perfect, (neither am I), but she is for me by far the candidate that can effectuate change, if that is what the majority of americans want.  Why?  Because she HAS made MISTAKES.... and any successfull person will say that they make 1000 mistakes before they get it ultimately right.  Evolution and change is a process that also involves mistakes. (like my spelling errors!)

If Hillary was a man, she would be admired for being smart, worldly and savvy and tough.  Look at her opponents, ALL of them.... imagine the horrors that McCain saw during the war and the choices that HE had to make in the name of his country... choices that none of us would want to make.... HE has learned from the past... learned about torture.... I would vote for him. Unfortunately I don't think he will make it.

Who in their right mind would want to be president?  We have crossed the line into their personal lives.  We believe that our right to know can put at risk the national security.  We have created a paradoxal situation where half of our country is naked and the other half covered up and pious.   The people in the middle are frustrated from being dictated to from either side.  AND many journalists are nothing but muck rakers that no longer have professional integrity.  They are not the men and women they were 20 years ago.

MISTAKES, errors of judgement are made when in positions of power and influence.  A loss for women and this country if we cannot understand this.  What is important is whether or not we have the courage to change our minds when we make an error.   Stepping back, it is apparent to me that if I want change in America, I want the candidate that has been in the trenches and will do what is necessary to bring it about.

What is so bad about giving healthcare to people, helping the poor?  Not good business, simple as that.  Sad but true.

As for making mistakes, it would be nice if Obama would learn the national anthem.  He probably meant no disrespect, but it is a glaring example of his lack of experience and political savoir faire.  Imagine sending him to a foreign country and having him offend them by not being sensitive to their cultural traditions because he has the right to free speach...?  Sounds risky?  The republicans are praying every night to have him as an opponant.  An easy KO.  I just wish he would have waited 4 to eight years, he needs to make some more mistakes.  He wants to be an agent of change... he needs to say how he is going to do that... what his program is.... still a mystery.

Blessings to you too.. glad we still have free speach in this country so we can debate..
Hope we have a new president who can protect those freedoms and give us back those that have been taken away over the past eight years.

Thanks for the info.... always interesting to read more opinions.  Send me some more if you have some on Obama or other candidates too.

Obama...
...I believe it is the personal right of each individual to display what they wish to display in the way of such things that are not a requirement. That pin was not a requirement. It's your privilege also to dislike whomever you like. I would be a fool to argue that issue with you because I don't even see it as an issue. Be blessed

I could give you much much more. I've been listening to her for over a year because I wanted desperate to vote for her. But at each different event, she would change like the weather. I started complaining to my son saying "did you hear what she said..." and he was much a Hillary lifelong fan that he wouldn't even listen to me. My anger grew the more I listened to her with my own ears. And the news media wasn't even on to her at that time and never said anything negative.

It was my own ears that proved her negativity to me and her blatant righteous behavior that the presidency belongs to her, like it was her right. Go figure.

Re: I hate to disagree...
That is what is great about America, is that we can disagree..  But I would personally be interested in hearing what it is you have discovered for it is not enough for me to go on simple statement that she is a bad person without proof.... without proof... it is merely gossip.

Rather Hillary, than Obama who cannot find it within himself as an AMERICAN to sing the national anthem and put his hand on his heart.  It is so disrespectful to all our boys and our veterans who have layed down their lives for our freedom and our country.  A simple gesture speaks volumes.  Yes we all have the right to free speech, but when you want to represent a country...be it's president... then RESPECT it, pledge alleigance to it.... don't DISRESPECT it.  It is one thing to talk about change, it is another to bring change about..... He has never said HOW he would do it?  He does not have enough experience to bring it about.. He needs two more terms in the Senate... and his hand accross his heart.

So, back to Hillary, Please enlighten all of us with facts about why she is a bad person, because without facts and proof, statements hold no weight and brings me back to my original statement:  Women kill each other with their own jealousy.... men know it and laugh.

I hate to disagree...
...but you have got to listen to the reasons why people do not want Hillary and it has nothing to do with jealousy I must say. It's the woman herself, not that fact that she is a woman. If she was a good woman, all of us would have backed her 100%. The fact is she IS NOT a good person. I have read about Hillary for over two years now and I believe I know her as a sister would. She is not who she claims to be, honestly. She is not the woman we want to lead us, please believe me. If I had the time, I would gather all my resources and send them to you to read for yourself. I say, it is about time people have seen through her facade.

Ladyof light
I'm with you on this one. Every prez has had a lover or two or three, no one ever made it a scandel, everyone turned their heads on that one and focused on what the current prez was doing for him/her and the country. As far as being a woman and this country being ready for one, it's a crying shame isn't it...that we as a nation think ourselves advanced...we are so not! great post
