Re: I'm also glad...
B2008,
Get used to it! There are actually real people who can not be "happy" if they are not finding fault and imperfections in OTHERS. Such people, it seems to me, actually believe that such behavior increases their own stature!
You may right, it might be funny if it were not so sad. No; it's funny anway!!
Thanks for your comment!

Re: I like to call myself a Nouveau Christian
Xeno-x,
Yes! I, personally, think you do well by following the approach you have outlined!
What, "in 'Pete's' name," can the balanced person hope to prove by showing the errors and imperfections of any "traditional" God?
What in the world can that possibly prove about the existence or lack of existence of any real God? One might just as well dismiss all the body of Scientific Knowledge because Science, and countless "lay" people, once believed in "Spontaneous Generation," or other false concepts which we have since proved to be in error!" And what difference at all does it make if we can still find many people who still insist on clinging to erroneous concepts?
All this really does not matter; some will just continue to blow smoke!
Other peoples' ignorance should not influence your own acquisition of knowledge.

I'm also glad...
...I'm a believer. And more now than ever because there are some vile, cruel people up here which I have learned today. It really makes me sad to know that a person can be so ignorant and cruel when they call themselves an Atheist.

I like to call myself a Nouveau Christian
concept of God transcending previous perceptions.
I do believe I worship a more true God than the one pictured.

Re: like Christians, you probably shouldn't lump Atheists into one bucket.
Xeno-x,
"Shades" of ABSOLUTE non-belief??? What is THAT? Are we playing games with words? I do not "lump all atheists into one bucket." If there is any group at all who does that, it is the atheists, themselves! There is plenty of room for "shades" of non-belief in the category of "Agnosticism!" There is no such thing as being "partially pregnant!" You are either pregnant, or you are not! One is either an atheist, or he is not! Now, which is it? Are you an Atheist or an Agnostic? I can accept either. Just be honest with me. (Once again, this is my opinion, and that's all it is!)

I would think there are shades of Atheists.
that is mainly because, as I have described in my blog, the traditional god is hard to believe in unless you have been taught to believe in such a god.

Your definitions were outstanding. I am so happy I am a believer. I find it difficult to understand why someone would not want the Lord in their life! sam
