On freedom and definitions

Katray and msaries: both of you make the valid point that once you try to label freedom you are inherntly changing it. Freedom is unique to us isn't it? And how we safe guard it is the question.

RavenDarke, I can't really think of a good overall definition of freedom.
But there are a lot of definitions of what freedom isn't which is the antithesis of freedom in a way.

From my dictionary
this is the meaning I like best, especially in these times: freedom from undue and unjust governmental control. I was going to simply say freedom, but that's too vague, I feel. Thought provoking post!
