Glennb, listen, you're so busy beating...
...around the bush, you can't even answer a simple question. Do you dislike America or not? It's that simple.
And I didn't suggest anything. I told you how I felt, it wasn't a suggestion. Anyone who can talk with such negativity is espousing their feelings, no matter what you call it. You're just too scared to call it what it really is. So, who's the coward now?

Bpitter2007,
Why your insistance on some hypothetical choice? You do not have the right to suggest my level of love or hate for America as less than yours! Go read the simplistic "talking point" writers, I need mature.

The way you talk about America shows hate. No one who liked living here could say those things. So the opposite of like is dislike. You mean you don't dislike America?

Glennb...don't you think I know that?
I don't have any fantasies about America. I live here and know that it's better than anywhere else I wish to go, except on a vacation maybe. Freedom of speech is a hell of a lot. People are dying everywhere for that right. If you don't consider it such a good thing, why stay here? That's what I would like to know. What is keeping you in America? And what makes you think that American families are not hurting, crying, living in dread everyday for their child in the military whom they wish to see again. The Americans I see in the war are communicating with the Iraqis and they seem to have an amicable relationship, but that's only what they show on the TV. I know I can't see behind the lines, but to see a little Iraqi child looking up at a soldier with adoration in his face is wonderful. It tells me that that soldier means something to that child.
I'm not into this war like the politicians are. I feel like an outsider looking in, but I know what I see. And our military are doing their jobs, whether they like it or not. They must follow orders and that is true for any job. They are definitely not cowards. Exchange places with an Iraqi or Islamic family and I bet they would jump at the chance to be here, no matter what they say to the contrary. You can swap places with that little boy who was burned so badly. Their family would love to stay here. Give them your space why don't you?

Where do you see the word hate in my writing? I would write "hate" if I hated! Read the content and context, it is just for thought! Reasoned debate is lost to the unreasonable mind!

Why would you want to do that when you hate America so much? Why don't you find a paradise country where you can live in peace and tranquility? If I hated a place as much as you say you do and think their people are a bunch of cowards, I would make every effort to leave that place. What's making you stay?

Fortunately, I do have other things on my plate and writing a President to get a form letter response has made its way off the list. I could go into detain about my, "bettering of America", plan but that will have to wait. It begins with investigating four administrations of American Presidents!

No, you're not seeking mature dialogue because you're not responding to everyone. You chose one person to respond to because you felt you had the upper hand, I suppose. You haven't responded to my posts and I find that very much a cowardice reaction. You just want somebody to blame for all your insecurities and immaturity. You can't say nothing at all about American as a whole. You don't have that right and you certainly don't know what you're talking about.
Get a life!

First Fig,
You are not the first to question my actions and motive here! Pulling out the "Race" card on Dafur is pathetic and juvenile. I get it and have a different reality! Dafur is an extension of the overall criminal mindset that is governing America! Spending trillions of dollars incite ethnic and political conflict to destroy a sovereign nation gives you zero credibility when you are taking up donations to save people lliving in poverty and ethnic conflict!
I seek mature dialogue here not a talking point recital!

Re: First Fig,
Glenn, you are a master at transference. I am not here for the pennies but to read and to write. My point, in case you missed it, was that you were spouting accusations at America for only using words and no action and that you were doing the same and at the same time taking American money to do it. It is sad, isn't it. I am done with this blog. The original post no longer garners argument or opinion. Good work Glenn!

glenb...You're the only COWARD I see here...
...because you use words to hide behind. You are not doing a darn thing to back up those words either. Why not go directly to the President and tell him what you think. Why not get a group of like-minded people together to propose a better solution to the problems you see as strictly American. I guess there are no other countries in the world who are doing what you claim we are doing. War is everywhere, if you haven't noticed. And remember, we didn't invent Genocide that's for sure and are not performing it. Also, your definition of cowardice means NOTHING because it's only your opinion and everyone has one.
Yes, we are going to vote but that's no guarantee we're going to get someone any better. So do you have any suggestions or only complaints? If you're gonna complain all the time, at least you should come up with a better solution. Nobody wants to constantly hear a complainer. Don't you have anything better to do?

First Fig,
This is just a forum for expression! I do fear the fading memory and fog taking over history possibility! Critical analysis would simply make it less likely. I do firmly believe that future historians will mine "cyber space" for "real" facts to adquately judge this generation of Americans! I hope to add to the debate and offer different directions for research!
If you are here for the pennies? Sad!!

Re: First Fig,
You want to see genocide...move your focus to Darfur. What is your position on the Sudanese? There are many sounds, there are protest marches in front of the White House, there are numerous websites, there are mothers who have lost sons that are fighting to ent this war and of course there is Vermont ready to sue Bush and Cheney for war crimes. We are not a silent nation as you would generalize us to be. Again, if we are only a nation of words...are you not jumping on the train with this blog. What action have you taken!!!

First Fig,
Did you read the my definition of cowardice. Understand that Americans have murdered over 2 million Iraqis and not a sound. With no one being held accountable! Now you have politicians and American citizens going to vote for the next person that will inherit Bush's crimes. And not a word about the duration of this genocide? Cowards is a fit!

What are you doing to take action? Posting your rhetoric on BlogIt to garner percentages of cents from Americans and others banks to gain popularity! Although I do not support this war in any respect, resorting to name calling and generalization does nothing to support your passion. Yep, you are right, we use words and many of them but you my friend are no different for I see lots of words from you dear Glenn and no action behind them.

Tip-toe-ing into your space here because I am not very educated in politics nor what the nation is up to besides war...and I so dislike war and violence. ...I will NEVER stop telling people how good America is because I have the same right as you, the right to speak! Whether you believe in democracy or not doesn't matter to me. I do, and I'm glad I am able to speak my peace. The day I'm not able is the day I might feel as you, who knows. But democracy is a hell of a lot better than anything else I see out there, other than death itself. That just might be the best thing. But I'm not trying to find that out either. If you are so sick of this country, why not leave? Nobody is making you stay here. You can switch places with many who would love to take your place and honor their opportunity to be somewhat free.
It behooves me to understand how people who hate America so much are the first ones living here espousing their hate. If we want to hear hate, all we have to do is look at our TV and hear the war mongers. If I were president, there would be no wars. And that's all I can say. But as you said, we, as citizens, are powerless other than to vote, and that's still no guarantee who you get will be any better.
If you can't make America better, then why make it worse? America is NOT EVIL, our government might be, but the people (most of them who are good), are not evil. So stop it, for God's sake. We, the people, .....remember?

First Fig,
Your comment implies that no other place on the Planet allows the freedom of "American Democracy"?? That is based on ignorance! No other place on the Planet would allow it's so called "war-time-President" to criminally invade another sovereign nation and laugh about it! The label, "a Nation of Cowards", sort of fits America right now!

To label any nation / group / society based on the actions of a few
is overgeneralization at best and irresponsible to say the least..as long as one is free to express one's opinions in a society one cannot claim to be speaking for others !

Bpitter2007,
It is time to stop telling people how good America is! Because America, is as evil as it is good. You are correct, we as citizens are powerless but I do not want to be reminded that I have a voice when in fact America is out of my control. That is the falacy of this notion of spreading democracy!

I am not sure where you are from but
Isn't it nice to be able to say what you want to say openly and without punishment. That is the beauty of our consitution. The freedom to speak freely. I appreciate anything you have to say about anything because in our cowardess country, you have the right to do so.
I for one am steadfast against this war and have been from day one! I don't have any control over my warmongering president but I respect our military and mourn for ALL families, regardless of race, religion or country, who have lost those they love.
"It's an everyday war
kicking down your door
tell me again, what's the reason
tell me again what it's for
I don't care for distruction
no matter where it be
if it's here in my backyard
or far away across the sea"

...That's a matter of opinion when you say our nation is inhabited by cowards. That's too broad a stroke for me. We have a nation of very good people who are trying to ge good to others the best way we can. And I'm not specifically including our government, because they don't necessarily speak for all their people. Our brave military are not cowards to us, their families. They are dying also. War does not only affect one group of people. It affects all involved. Most Americans did not approve of our government's actions and still do not approve of so many people dying in that fashion. But we, as individuals, have no control over what is going on. All I know is, it hurts me to the core when people call all Americans cowards or despicable names because they feel they people are suffering only by themselves. We suffer with you, remember that. We are people who truly care about others so please stop categorizing us. We don't deserve it!
