Why Aren't We Hearing About The War Now????
Corbin: As we are scaling back the surge, I hope that 2008 will continue to bring better news from Iraq. You're right about the media coverage. If more American troops and general violence were escalating, it would be continuous front-page news and reported widely.

No doubt, bad news sells.
We're all rubberneckers and car wreck gazers. No one wants to read about the millions of planes that land safely every day; they want to see the wreckage on the side runway.
Don Henley had it right -- we love dirty laundry.

Corbin Dallas,
The point in your argument is you have no point or argument! First you need to stop labeling the "genocide" in Iraq and Afghanistan war! War is a convenient justification for the destruction and maiming of innocent people! 27million Iraqis against a 300 million plus superpower! Not war to me, just crimes against humanity!

Corbin, Assassination Hot, War Not. It is my believe the media circus is
not happy unless showing how FUBAR our world is. Bad news sells papers or raises points in television ratings, not good. Sad,isn't it? Peace

I agree....
that the media only likes to report the heinous or those feel good stories that make people cry. That is why I don't watch the news because of all the BS.

Absolutely true...
...about the media. They will never call themselves wrong or will never apologize for being wrong. Their words are law to them. But I'm glad we're not hearing anything about the war because I don't want to hear negatives. And you're definitely not going to hear positives from our media, that's for sure. And Clinton, Reid, and all those who were doubtful of Petreus don't like eating crow, I'm sure:)
I don't like war, period, so not hearing about it makes me happy:)

The media clamors to have everyone eat crow but themselves. It is shameful that we would not seek to cheer and praise our service men and women. It says more about them than anything else, it is about ratings. sam

Excellent points! Even here in Canada our media have fallen silent about the war! There is only one reason - THEY WILL NOT REPORT SUCCESS!
