Thanks everyone for..
...your responses. Update: The mother never got the tickets. They were awarded to another little girl whom they did not name because of the publicity.

Oh.....the things we do to make our children happy....certainly not always in their best interest but, when we see that they REALLY want something........i mean REALLY...i guess it's not unusual to try to get it for them (nothing illegal of course). When my 3 kids were really little.........last minute thing i took them to the circus.......i didn't have tickets.....once we got there, the kids were so excited....there were clowns walking around outside juggling....they knew it was going to be fun.....but, guess what.......I DIDN'T HAVE TICKETS..........so.......i went to the ticket window (it was at the chicago stadium) and LIED through my teeth.......told them i was suppose to have tickets on will call........asked to speak to a manager..made a BIG scene.....still no tickets........kids were so disappointed...silly, stupid me.

I am appalled. The mother is shameful. I cannot believe there is a discussion on the tickets being returned or not. The mother should return the tickets and end the fiasco. Jeff has a blog posted on embellishment of sports injuries. This is just sinful. Thanks for sharing.  sam
