I got an early start through church fuctions where I'd say a word (or two)
and in school through speeches..this was when I was in my teens...I've never had any formal training, but it would be interesting to take some...

I overcome stage fright the hard way... like it or not I had to go up there. While making the announcement, I looked at the ceiling instead of the audience!

Its not easy getting up in front of people...
I used to be real bad about trying to get up in front of class and that sort of thing. I never took any classes about it or read any books. Lol....I got over it when I went through basic training in the army.....after that, stagefright wasn't a big problem anymore! Good blog...

Maybe you can visit your hubby's club; lately an old member reinstated and joined our club and she tagging her hubby (back)... they met and fell in love in a Toastmasters meeting 20 years ago!!!

I love writing...
...where I can change my mind, write it better, or do it over if I want to. Once it's spoken, you can't take the words back, be they right, wrong or indifferent.

I used to be in the Optimist Club in junior high and won several speech
contests, and if I had the motivation, I'd be a motivational speaker! hahaha...

Re: My husband loves speaking in front of people and is in Toastmasters.

My wife is behind-the-scene too. Since I'm quite active as a Toastmaster (officer, governer etc), I got my wife to join and she loved it.  In fact, the following day after her first speaking engagement, a lot of people commented that she bloomed!

Now I find blogging here quite an experience as well

My husband loves speaking in front of people and is in Toastmasters.
I'm more the behind the scene kinda person, the writer...he's more outgoing and verbal and enjoys it very much...he goes every week at work.
