Wikipedia is a wonderful site. However, since Wikipedia content is user-contributed and thus varies in quality and accuracy, we strongly recommend a government site for the most accurate and up-to-date information on copyright law.
For US residents, an appropriate resource is the US government site, www.copyright.gov.
For residents of other countries, since copyright law can vary around the world -- sometimes significantly -- please see your local government site.
