You are so right. That's why I don't go to church either. It's like a fashion show and people you may know who don't live a Christian life except at Sunday services will come right out of there, go by a six pack, sit down at home with some friends, and curse like a sailor at a football game. That, to me, is a "part-time" Christian. So, I know how you feel.

this was also happening in a affiliate church and some people left because our church didn't go along with it

I was asked the other day what religion I was and I said Lutheran but my mom would probably say atheists

It's a shame when people attend church for a "quick fix" or to keep up appearances.  Religion or true spirituality goes well beyond the doors of any church.

And this is why I choose NOT to affiliate myself with any one church, my relationship is with me and the Lord, no filters, no middle man...just me and my personal Savior. I quit going to church altogether when a petition was passed around the church one day, wanting my signature to abolish Gays and women who have had abortions from coming to church. WOW! I was blind sided, I hadn't seen it coming for I was naive and thought churches were the gathering place for 'everyone' and especially the sinners....BUT when a church wants to exclude instead of bringing in the fold closer well, hell, I'm outta there.

I do relate to this, as I too went through such times in my earlier years.  I wrote something along these lines somewhere along the way.  It is true, we do not need to frequent church to know or praise God, if your heart is open he shall enter, is how I see it. Thanks for the read and insight. Take care.

Blessings.
