Re: They don't tell you about your strengths and advantageous genes?
That's what I thought, ciel! Of course, it would be equally depressing to find out that according to my genes I could have been another Einstein, had I only applied myself...

Kabu, your new-found happiness overrides possible genetic flaws anyway...

Having delusions might have a basis in one's genetic make-up too, Pat...

They don't tell you about your strengths and advantageous genes?
From the comments here, they have a clear problem in the marketing department.

I already know
I have genes for every disease there is.  My father's side with his twelve siblings had it all,(he and two others are the only survivors).  Have schizophrenia from my mother's side too.  Hope I nor my kids nor their kids ever set that one off!

Several years back, my daughter-in-law at the time, had that run because her biological father took a powder when she was conceived instead of staying around to marry her mother.   Her mother never told her this until she was grown and married and she had always though the father of her sisters was also her father.  When she was told, she became worried about what might be in her genetic profile and had it done.   I don't think it did her any good knowing.  It is her funeral we are having tomorrow.

Hey I don't want any bad news. First it is bad news to give away $1,000 to have someone tell me what a diseased mutant goof-off I am. I could make a down payment on a three wheeler with a basket on it made especially for little old ladies. No Thanks.

None of these tests or predictions can take in to account life style, eating habits tragedy or happiness etc. They can only predict maybe and make a person miserable.

...do they include premonitions about being hit by a bus too?

So I can pay these guys a thousand bucks and they'll tell me
I take after Mom or Dad or one of the Grands or Greats?  What a deal!  I think I'll pass, since I've given myself the credit for a number of my own quirks, and I'd like to continue living with my delusions...
