You're right: Bammental is close to Heidelberg (about 15 minutes away). It is by a small river and quite pretty.
I also loved in Toronto for 7 years and the weather there in the winter was not too good either, But, there was a bit more sun than hier.

I think I remember Bammental! Isn't it near Heidelberg? I drove through there once, didn't stop, but recall the name. I
do remember that it was on a warm and sunny day, though. But I can see how constant rain can get on your nerves! I have experienced it in Vancouver! But here in Toronto we have had early snow this year...
