Perhaps if we all greeted each other with "peace," there would be more of it.

I love your ramblings for they are not such to me. Yes, most small towns are hand raisers, you bettcha, everyone waves. The city is usually a middle finger wave, none the less I am a two finger giver and will always be. Yes, and what better way to give thanks to our soldiers at this time than to wave the two fingers as greetings to all in hopes that peace does prevail...for we must remember 'in war, who ever won, their are no winners.'

Seedlings. Many of the people I encounter on life's Highways and byways and
freeways get waved at (well not so much in the cities as the backroads) When I was living in the country If you didn't at least throw up your hand in greeting you were probably a tourist or a federal agent of some kind. Occasionally I still flash the two fingered "peace wave" at people, and get a big kick when gives me right back atcha and an accompanied smile. Even during the many long years in the military there were those of us (usually enlisted men) who would greet each other in like fashion. Although we remained prepared to do battle with the enemy (whoever it was at the time) at any time, we still preferred peace (again the majority)over war. Wars kill people and some of the greatest people I ever came in contact with were soldiers, just like me. Now the soldiers in harm's way are our sons and daughters, wives and husbands and fathers and mothers. I don't know their names and probably never will, but I still, and will always say "The vast majority are still  some of the finest people I know and I salute you" and "May Peace Be With Us For At Least One Generation" (Sorry, Seedlings, I got wound up)

I will take a hippie home anytime---garland them too! It takes courage to

keep your PEACE sign. Amazing how 'making war" is so respected but out top warmongers did their best NOT TO GO TO WAR when they were needed by our nation! Shalom

that was a nice reflection...

Cheerful people who say hello brighten more people on more days than chocolate does.
