yeah -- like with the Diocese of Missouri
my understanding is parish property is not really parish property, but that of the Diocese. This from a 1976 addition to the canons and bylaws when ordination of women was approved and probability of secession loomed then. Keeps the denomination together, loosely though it may be.
My issue is that, when a movement toward a more enlightened vision is made, those deciding to make the vision that of the denomination as a whole fail to consider the feelings of those opposed, and the opposition feels that they are biblically correct.
They embrace one group at the expense of another.
I don't know about property of a particular diocese, whether that was included in canon. That is the issue.
