Most accidents by  guns happen when "it was always locked away". I applaud you for not sending your son over. Self preservation is the first law of life. Better be safe than sorry.

Re:

It is nuts, I wished my friend valued my oppion. My friend, she married this man 5 years ago, following  the money. Which has come to them in buckets, tho she has lost all her common sense. Some times I want to be Jealous of them, but I wold never give up what I have to trade places with her.

I cant imagine what they will buy their children as they grow up? I recently heard a story of a 19 year old in jail that told his father " you have given me money always, what I needed was a parent and I will do my time with out your help "

Happy holidays!

It is insane to buy a 4 year old a real shot gun. I've never even bought a toy gun for my son (well, except for a water pistol once one summer when all his friends had one and he felt left out).
