Huckabee Finn on a raft and it is moving
It's interesting to read about other countries' political "agendas". It makes me feel better about the circus that's running our country. The next elections is only in 2009, but already they're fighting over who's gonna be the next president and what his cabinet is gonna look like. And all I understand about it all is that we're up for some real tuff rides!

The surprises are the best part of such elections. The elections themselves
are boring!

Re: The whole system is flawed to the max.......
Corbin Dallas: I agree with your proposal but I don't think that it would fly. Most people are on vacations or ready to go on summer vacations during June and July. Voter turnout would be less than it's now. Only people who are political junkies would vote.

The whole system is flawed to the max.......
My proposal would be all primaries take place from June thru July, Conventions in September.....60 day general election campaign.........the Media is being absurd in their dealings on this...and since things are going so well in Iraq.....(not enough body counts)..........it's the only thing they choose to report on.....

The primary system is a problematic joke. Way too much emphasis is
placed on the first couple states, none of which have hardly any electoral votes in the popular election. It's ridiculous that a national candidate be picked by Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina. But you're right. This could be a season for surprises. I hope so, but if Hillary or Obama comes out on top, the Democrats will lose the election. Edwards and Biden are their best chance to appeal to a more general audience, including disillusioned Republicans and independents. I'm beginning to think Huckabee's going to get the GOP nod. As long as it's not Giuliani or Romney, two reactionaries, it'll be alright.

Huckabee Finn On A Raft And It Is Moving
Justi: I agree with you that surprises could abound for both political parties. I don't believe that the majority of people nationwide that plan on voting in these primaries and caucus' have made up their minds yet.

Now that I won't vote since Spitzer has reneged on giving me a New York driver's loicence (that is not a typo, lol), I am rapidly losing interest in the whole thing...
