Saul Relative: Unfortunately, nothing can be done right now except put price controls on gasoline and oil.  The renewable sources of energy is going to take time to implement in a cost-effective way.  This country should've listened to Jimmy Carter regarding the energy crisis then when he was president.

grandstander that will be supplanted by and superseded by technological innovation and necessity before it will go into effect.  They need to pass something that will go into effect relatively soon, is less intrusive on the people, and fuck the oil companies.  Those bastards always get theirs, so you could increase their taxes to whatever and it wouldn't matter -- they'll pass it on anyway...

Corbin Dallas: A great source of energy for the United States is oil production from the Canadian tar sands.

                    It's useless......

without expanding usage of resources we already have......for me it's rather two-faced to rant about our dependence on foreign oil and at the same time refuse to taps into the vast  resources we have at hand.......
Cuba and China are currently working hard at draining areas of the Gulf of Mexico while we kowtow to environmental extremism.......
Ethenol is not the answer......it only drives up the cost of our food and threatens the economy.
