  any time you give should be without expectation shouldnt it?  And is this Daan and Dakshina only given to a Brahmin who performs a puja.

Giving, in irself, is receiving. When a Brahmin performs a puja (prayer), in India there is a custom to give Daan (charity), and then there is another called Dakshina, which means you give him the second time in thankfulness that he has accepted. He could have refused too. And this giving should be without any expectation of a reward. That purifies your giving.
