Re: Re:

I did not see the first part either. I caught a small portion of it. Yes, the candidates do not answer the questions. They seem to plan what they are going to say no matter what the question.  Perhaps, when they prefer not to make their views known, or they have no view at all, they sidestep the question. The moderator should hold them to the questions.

I still cannot agree with you that any question is stupid. Even if it requires a stupid answer. And no answer is stupid. We learn something from every question and also from every answer.

Re:
Ex_Turpi: I missed the first 45 minutes of the debate but the questions were silly from 9:15 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. when I shut the TV off for the night.  If you listened closely, many of the candidates didn't answer the questions posed to them.  The Muslim woman that asked: What would you do to reduce the United States poor image in the rest of the world? wasn't answered.  Maybe they didn't agree with the premise of her question.  I just prefer other debate formats.  I have no problem with anyone asking questions.  From the time that I was watching and listening, I just wish that they were more substantive.

Re: Republican Debate
RedStatesMan: I agree with you that most of the questions were stupid.  Lou Dobbs is a good show on CNN.

TheRevolutionary: I support Ron Paul.  I also like Duncan Hunter.  For the Democrats, my favorite is Dennis Kucinich but I like Paul and Hunter better.  I like Pat Buchanan and his views on trade, immigration and the Iraq war.  Paul is closest to Buchanan on most issues with Hunter a close second.

Wavy:

The questions were made by real people. No question is a dumb one. Heated exchanges from the candidates resulted. That is a good thing. The voters in this country are not all Harvard alumni, yet they should have their say. That is the essence of democracy.

The suggestion you make about select groups asking questions is a sensible one but there is no necessity to exclude other formats. There are many days before the election. Each format can be accommodated.

Was the debate a good one? Yes. No discussion is without merit. Thanks for your review.

Stay well; walk good my friend.

Red States Man..........Be Careful
I have much disdain for Liberal politics also, however comments like you have made here about dead liberals, doesn't do alot to further our agenda.  Look, we both believe that our political position is the right one.  I have always maintained that Conservatives make decisions and policy based on logic, and Liberals make decisions and policy based on emotion.  The last thing we as conservatives want or need to do is lose our cool, and become the emotinal babbling idiots like our "friends" on the left!  All that being said, keep up the good work, and spread the conservative message in a positive way.  Have faith that logic will win over emotional swings time after time.  Sometimes it just takes people a little longer to realize that.

Wavy....Most of the Debate was Bullshit!
These debates are almost more of a time for the reporters to show boat themselves than attempt to get real answers from the candidates.  Besides the Homo General, how old was the next oldest person to ask a question.  A you tube debate is the most stupid thing I have ever heard of.  Half the people asking the questions were well known supporters of CLinton, Edwards, and Obama!  It was impossible to get any answers of substance because the questions had no substance.  Overall I was least impressed with Mit Romney.  All Mit could say to every question was something like this.."Well since I have no real opinion of my own on this matter, I would ask everyone else around me and depend on their guidance and judgement!.....What a crock....he's the one running for president, not everyone else.  I am a conservative republican and will support any of the republican nominees before ever voting for the likes of the (LIB) 3
