I feel your pain...
Ah, it reminds me of the time my story was "mysteriously" deleted off of my computer...twice!  I am still trying to finish the doggone thing, and am now starting it over for the 3rd...or 4th time.  Keep it up though (if you haven't already finished it...), we need more good books in our society, and I am sure yours will be great.

Hang in there. I've written 12 novels already and it has taken years just to land a legitimate literary agent, but despite the frustrations, if you focus on the writing and the importance of having readers, the rest comes into perspective. Writing and publishing are two different beasts. Great words are seldom published, but Brittany Speers could egt her farts in print without effort. Writing is an art that could become a profession. All it takes is your first $5.00 sale to sport the name AUTHOR. Publishing is a business and a fickle one. The only thing it gets an author is more readers, which is the most important thing. Some authors hit it big, but believe me - the most frustrating excursion an unpublished author can take is a trip to Border's Book Store and NOT see anything he/she has authored in the stacks. For every book there, there's ten thousand that could be there. Still, if you can hang in, you can create your own immortality and certainly (excuse the adverb, which are purnicious weeds) outlive your foul computer.

PS: Stuck. Let me know where. I can generally move anyone off a dime.

Just think of it as letting it cook. When you see it again it'll be like
the first time.
