... and I love both the sunshine and the moonshine!
What you could derive from this poem, however, it the fact that life isn't always about reaching for the "gold"... "silver" in this case can also be the contentment with life... without complaining about too much and without always wanting something better... Also, if you are in pain, darkness can often enhance your fear... and then the moonshine can be a true relief.
