... don't hit the back button (or any other button) until you've hit add post? 
Just teasing, although incidentally my browser works like DamonLeigh's, and usually just going forward (or backward, depending on what you did) will bring the post back up. Usually only doesn't do that if the URL starts https, which BN's don't.

...then hitting the Forward button? It might have still been there. It usually is for me.
