Yes...we should always depend on the government to take care of our needs.
They do such a marvelous job of micro managing our affairs.........

Goverments ARE meant to take care of the need for law and order
and there are tens of examples of countries where citizens are safe not becuase they fend for themselves but becuase their goverments keep crime rates under control.
I understand that in rural areas, it is essential to have means to protects one's self, but that should not be the case in cities.

A few months ago a twelve year old girl was home alone in one of the upper Mid Western states. This child had been taught how to and when to use a gun properly. Two men broke into the house on the first floor. She loaded the gun and held the men until law enforcement arrived. They found a girl raped and beaten on a farm nearby where the men had been. I was taught to understand a gun at six. To have respect for the gun and my fellowman. If your government turns on it's people (it has happened many times) you have no security. The government is not meant to take care of our every need.

Hi Justi
My husband keeps a gun in my house against my will and the mere existence of it frightens me to hell. I understand your concerns, but maybe if the goverment turned its attention to making the country a safer place and strengthing the police force then there would be no need for guns in the first place.

The courts are deciding a most important move
In our country it is already happening. You don't dare protect your assets or family otherwise you're the one ending up in jail! It's so unfair!

It would be a mistake to take away the citizen's right to bare arms - I do it every chance I get, especially in summer...

Seriously, though, it would also be a mistake to prohibit the citizens' right to bear arms. In this country that right has been virtually eliminated, except for criminals of course, who bear them freely...

This is a
turning point or terminal point in our country.....depending on the outcome. I think they will overturn the law.
